Marker #6 is on Route 5 in Schuyler on the north side of the road - "General Herkimer __ near this spot on the night of August 4, 1777. With him were his 800 men and 400 ox carts, filled with supplies for the relief of Fort Stanwix."
The 14th and final marker was placed near the Oriskany monument on the Oriskany battlefield. "Near this spot stood the beech tree, which during the Battle of Oriskany on August 6, 1777, sheltered the wounded Gen. Herkimer while he gave orders that made Saratoga possible and decided the fate of a __."
Marker #10 is located on an island between lower Whitesboro St. and Railroad St. stating "General Herkimer marched past this spot on his way to Fort Stanwix, on August 5, 1777. He was brought back __ over this same road on the evening of the following day.
The first marker was placed at the home of Gen. __ Herkimer (ca.1728-1777). It reads: From this point Gen. __ Heirchhelmer, known as General Herkimer, started August 3, 1777, to take command of the men who assembled in answer to his call to fight in defense of the Mohawk Valley."
Marker #4 at Fort Herkimer notes the __ of General Herkimer - "Here is born Nicholas Herkimer, eldest son of Johan Jost Herchheimer. He became a General in the Revolutionary War and the hero of Oriskany."
Marker #12 is located on the front lawn of the Dunham Public __ in Whitesboro. "The rear guard of Gen. Herkimer's army encamped along the highway near this spot on August 5, 1777, the night before the Battle of Oriskany."
On June 14, 1912, Flag Day, the __ of the American Revolution, who spearheaded the project to place 14 bronze tablets to mark the 4 day journey of General Herkimer and the Tryon County Militia from Danube to Oriskany on August 3-6,1777, unveiled the monuments.
The 2nd marker was placed on the grounds of Herkimer Home dedicated "to the memory of the __ who passed along this route and fought with General Herkimer on the battlefield of Oriskany August 6, 1777."
Marker #7 is on the corner of Leland Ave. and Herkimer Rd. across from Burger King. "At this point, on August 5, 1777, Gen. Herkimer, with the greater part of his men and wagon train, turned southerly to ford the __.
