A grand mal epilepsy with three distinct phases: Aura, tonic-clonic seizure and postictal lethargy.

Rigidity, the arms, wrists, and fingers are flexed. Plantar flexion occurs in the feet. This may indicate damage to the cortex of the brain.
S/s intracranial irritation, severe headache, drowsiness, delirium, irritability, restlessness, fever, vomiting, and nuchal rigidity. Infants may have a high-pitched cry. Seizures are common.
Stiffening or contraction of muscles.
Headache followed by drowsiness proceeds coma. CNS response to irritation.
Pain and tenderness on manipulating the pinna or tragus of the ears. Often called swimmer's ear.

I present with pain (often very severe), irritability, diminished hearing , fever up to 104,headache, diarrhea, vomiting, and febrile seizure.
This can cause tearing of the nerve fibers within the brain, which can result in retinal, subarachnoid, and subdural hemorrhages as well as high-level cervical spine injuries and permanent disability or death
Signs and symptoms my be neurological changes such as altered behavior, altered level of consciousness, seizures, and coma.
Unexplained failure to achieve in school. Temporary loss of awareness that results in lack of continuity in the learning environment.
A sudden, intermittent episodes of altered consciousness that last seconds to minutes .
A group of motor disorders caused by dysfunction of various motor centers in the brain.
A condition in which a child is not able to direct both eyes toward the same object. There is lack of coordination between the eye muscles that direct movement of the eye.
Viral infection related especially if child is given aspirin with viral flue or illness such as chickenpox.
A defect in the cortex of teh brain that processes graphic symbols and particularly a reading disability.
Inflammation of the mucous membrane that lines the eyelids.
