Called a great "trumpeter" by writing books: The Advancement of Learning, A New Instrument, and New Atlantis.
Overturned centuries of thought about moving objects. United the Earth and the universe in one law, along with inventing 3 more laws of motion, and invented a type of math called calculus. Built a telescope, proved that white light is made of all the colors of the rainbow, and wrote Mathematical Principles of Natural. Philosophy
Discovered why soda pop fizzes and bubbles. He sold his idea that carbon dioxide gas mixed with water, sugar, and herbal flavorings to produce a refreshing drink to Jacob Schweppe, a friend. Discovered that gas in pure form made fires burn hot and bright and made mice frisky and active and termed it "dephlogisticated air." The term was wrong. It was actually oxygen. What made fires burn is a chemical reaction called combustion.

Worked to find out what kind of molecule could carry and transmit traits at Cambridge University in England. Used large tinker toys to figure out the structure of DNA. Wilkins and Franklin provided information to help improve the models. Figured out the correct model for DNA and how it copies itself. Won a Nobel Prize for work on DNA.
