COPD: Prevents airway spasms throughout the day and night. Ex. Serevent.
Blocks chemicals that cause airway to narrow and tighten. Leukotriene modifier.
Prevents airway swelling and spasms. Rinse mouth after each use to prevent thrush.
Expectorant: reduces chest congestion by thinning the mucus in air passages.
Respiratory treatment to reduce mucus. Also used in renal insufficiency (cath lab due to dye).
