ABCs, CPR prn; control bleeding; TRIAGE other injuries, treat life-threatening 1st (2 wds)
Scraping of the skin
White, waxy, or grayish-yellow skin; give warm blankets, do not rub or break blisters; place sterile gauze between thawed body parts
Small hole made by a piercing object (knife, nail, bullet, animal tooth)
Core temp >105 F degrees (2 wds)
Elevate extremity; cover with sterile dressing & control bleeding; wrap severed tissue in sterile gauze, baggy; put in cooler & send with pt for re-attachment

Keep pt calm, avoid any exertion, immobilize injured area & place below heart level
Uncontrolled bleeding
Move pt to fresh air; call EMS; loosen clothing; wrap in warm blanket; start CPR prn (2 wds)
Unique to this injury or condition: clear or bloody drainage from ears or nose; seizures; watch for respiratory arrest (3 wds)
Clean straight smooth cut
A jarring of the brain; observe for loss of consciousness (LOC)
Wash wounds with soap/H2O, ice to stop swelling, keep "bite site" below heart level
A partial tear of a ligament or joint caused by a twisting injury
Muscle injury caused by over-exertion; treatment is rest, heat, muscle relaxants
