PV system DC circuit conductors shall be identified at all termination, connection, and splice points by color coding, marking tape, tagging, or other approved means. 690.31 B 1
Disconnecting means of the type required in 690.15D shall be provided to disconnect AC PV modules, fuses, DC to DC Converters, inverters, and charge controllers from all conductors that are not solidly grounded.
Means shall be provided to disconnect the PV system from all wiring systems including power systems, energy storage systems, and utilization equipment and its associated premises wiring. 690.13 A-E
Single conductor cable in exposed outdoor locations in PV system DC circuits within the PV array shall be permitted to be PV wire or cable, sunlight resistance, USE-2 or RHW-2 types, 690.31 C 1
Requirements for controlled conductor limits shall apply to inside and outside array boundaries as per, 690.12 B
Roof-mounted PV array mounting systems shall be permitted to be held in place with approved means other than those required by 110.13 and shall utilize wiring methods that allow any expected movement of the array. 690.31 F
The initiation devices shall initiate the rapid shutdown function of the PV system. For one and two family dwellings they shall be located at a readily accessible location outside the building. 690.12 C
Single conductor PV wire or cable of all sizes or distributed generation cable of all sizes, with or without a cable tray rating, shall be permitted in outdoor locations, provided that they are supported every 12 in., and intervals not to exceed 4.5 ft. 690.31 C 2
