In 1996, I was the winning pitcher in the Rangers first postseason game ever, throwing a complete game against the NY Yankees.
I hold the Ranger record for most consecutive plate appearances reaching base safely with 13 (10 hits and 3 walks).
I was an outfielder and DH for the World Champion Rangers in 2023. Before coming to the Rangers, I set the all-time MLB record for position players for the most consecutive games without an error with 440.
I played CF for the Rangers. In 1989, I stole 45 bases which is the 4th highest season total in Ranger history.
I was traded from the Rangers along with Rusty Torres to the White Sox for Bobby Bonds on May 16, 1978.
I am a former Rangers 2nd baseman, and my nickname is “The Governor” as I share my name with the former Governor of California.

I was a SS for the Rangers in ‘93 and ‘95-’97. I served as the manager of the Mexico national baseball team in the 2020 Summer Olympics and the 2023 World Baseball Classic. I have also managed teams in the Mexican Pacific League.
I played for the Rangers from 1989-1992. I was mainly a pinch hitter, back-up first baseman, left fielder, and occasional DH. I hit .302 in 1989, and .300 in 1990 thus becoming the first Ranger to hit over .300 with 100 or more at-bats in back to back seasons since Al Oliver in 1980-1981.

On August 7, 2018, I picked up my 246th career victory and that moved me past Dennis Martinez for the most victories all-time by a Latin American-born pitcher.
I was a 3-time World Series champion with the Oakland A’s, and played shortstop for the Rangers in ‘77, ‘78, and part of ‘79.
I was the first DH in Texas Ranger history.
In 2023, I was a 21 year old rookie that was called up to the Majors on September 8th and proceeded to hit .306 with an On Base Pct. of .413 the remainder of the regular season and .300 with an On Base Pct. of .417 in the postseason.
