Individuals attending a public event at a school may take recordings
without obtaining permission as long as they follow any guidelines
provided by the principal and do not interfere with the event.Daily school operations are not public events and permission of the
school principal is required to access and record within the school
building or on school grounds.
Use ethical and respectful behaviour when conversing or posting material.
means a visual, audio, pictorial or digital representation and includes a
photograph, film, videotape, audiotape, digital image, sketch, interview or any other
type of recording of personal information.
For working sessions and corporate events greater than 2 hours and less than 4 hours, beverages and a light snack may be made available to a maximum of the approved limit.
means any behavior or pattern of repeated behavior that disparages, humiliates or harms another person, or denies an individual’s dignity and respect and is demeaning or humiliating to another person
requesting a colleague, administrator or supervisor to provide informal intervention towards an acceptable resolution of the situation where the complainant is uncomfortable approaching the respondent directly,
contain consistent procedures which are fair, reasonable and objective
means the inclusion of individuals or groups
engaging with schools in learning or support of student learning and the
CBE.
means a disclosure of wrongdoing made in good faith to the Calgary Board of Education or through the Commissioner in accordance with the CBE Public Interest Disclosure Framework
means anything created individually or collaboratively by a student
enrolled in a CBE program including but not limited to: student writing, original
creations/inventions, worksheets, or design.
means situations in which the personal or private interests of an employee (or the employee’s family or close business associates) conflict with the interests of the CBE, or when there is a reasonable basis for the perception of such conflict
Parents must be notified annually in writing, using current CBE
forms, that personal information may be collected, used and
disclosed for the purposes of providing educational programs.
